Through the compute & network convergence architecture,Asterfusion® ET2000 switch allows users to deploy advanced service processing applications in its intelligent service processing unit and make up the lack of in-depth service processing in legacy switching systems. With Asterfusion® ET2000 switch, users can also develop various innovative service functions while at the same time ensure wire-speed packet forwarding performance.

Capital cost Reduction

With two high-performance intelligent service processing units, Asterfusion® ET2000 switch enables users to run third-party service applications while retaining the wire-speed packet forwarding capability of the ASIC chip. Asterfusion® ET2000 switch can significantly offload the computing pressure on the back-end application systems and reducing the capital cost of backend application systems.

Fully open hardware architecture

Asterfusion® ET2000 switch contains an open hardware and software architecture. With the ET2000 switch, users can easily customize their own network applications and make the functions of network equipment more suitable to their own service scenarios.

Programmable switching ASIC

Asterfusion® ET2000 switch contains a programmable switching ASIC. When compared with the legacy switching chips, the programmable switching ASIC supports features like programmable protocol parsing, programmable resource allocation, programmable forwarding logic, etc. When compared with network processors, the programmable switching ASIC can remove the performance bottleneck that packets must be processed through CPU.

In-depth service processing capability

Each Asterfusion® ET2000 switch can support up to two high-performance intelligent service processing units and each processing unit contains tenths of network function co-processor cores. These network function co-processor cores can make up for the deficiency of in-depth service processing capability in the programmable ASIC and significantly improve Asterfusion® ET2000 switch’s performance in complex service functions.

Flexible configuration combination

Asterfusion® ET2000 switch includes versatile interface types and can provide up to 4 * 100GE plus 48 *10GE interfaces. At the same time, it can support intelligent service processing units with different processor core performance and memory capacity specifications, which would allow users the flexibility in choosing the combinations best fit their service needs.
