Is It Possible to Deploy OpenStack in Enterprise Network?
A brief introduction to OpenStack
OpenStack is an open source Cloud OS that is used to unify the management and control of all compute, network and storage resources within the data center.
Both cloud administrators and cloud users can deploy on-demand and automatically schedule various resources in the cloud through the control panel and WebUI provided by OpenStack.
OpenStack is an open system consisting of several subprojects/modules, Nova (compute resource management), Neutron (network resource management), Cinder (block storage resource management), etc. In order to maintain its openness and compatibility with existing infrastructure, many modules of OpenStack have defined RESTful API standards. Third-party systems can realize seamless interfacing with OpenStack by providing the corresponding APIs according to this standard, and thus be centrally managed and automatically dispatched by OpenStack.
In short: the deployment of virtual networking and load balancing services on the high-performance Asterfusion cloud network is still just two mouse clicks away on OpenStack.
Do Enterprise Networks Need OpenStack?
OpenStack cloud solutions provide several benefits for businesses that have or are seeking to virtualize elements of their infrastructure or services. Some of these include:
Improving business agility, increasing the efficiency of core processes, enhancing the availability of resources, adding flexibility and adaptability to your infrastructure. OpenStack is an open and flexible platform that enables application portability even among private and public clouds, allowing enterprises to choose the best cloud for their applications and workflows at any time, without lock-in. It can also be integrated with a variety of key business systems.
Enterprise Network with Full-featured SONiC-equipped L3 Switches
In most people’s perception, access switches in enterprise networks often mean “low-end model”, “layer 2 switch”, or…just get through. Instead, we offer AsterNOS, a full-featured enterprise-class SONiC distribution for switches located in the access/aggregation layer of enterprise networks.
AsterNOS inherits the endogenous security of the open source Linux kernel and the scalability of the SONiC open architecture, while providing the stability and ease of use of the commercial version. With the powerful software features provided by AsterNOS, we can build a complete network architecture from the access layer to the core layer with three or five hardware models to achieve full coverage from SMB offices to large campus scenarios across buildings.
By providing standard RESTful APIs and plug-ins, Asterfusion’s cloud enterprise network has the ability to interface with OpenStack’s Neutron.
